J. Les Gainous has over 30 years’ experience in developing and architecting enterprise level software applications, with 10 of those years as a solutions architect with the Microsoft Corporation. At Microsoft, Les was involved with major software application projects at many Fortune 50 companies, including corporations such as Motorola, Toyota America, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Chevron, VISA America, and Charles Schwab. During his career, he has been part of -and has managed- teams with sizes up to 40-50 professionals, both on-premises and off-shore.
Les is very active in the local technology user group arena, having served as President of the Orange County SQL Server User Group and founder of the Orange County Java User Group in 1996. Les has often presented at these various group meetings as well as regional software development conferences and has participated in various Microsoft national developer conferences as a member of "Panel of Experts" and as proctor at many hands-on labs. Les was also a technical editor of the book, "Windows Architecture I and II (MCSD Study Guide)".
In his spare time, Les enjoys snowboarding, playing softball, and is an electronic gadget enthusiast. He also has his FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot’s certificate and is currently pursuing his private pilot license.
Les is a graduate of Florida State University with a BS in Business Administration and a minor degree in Computer Science.
